For those of you who say that this fix didn't work and you had to disable the Schlage button via the programming mode 7 option, let me share my experience. TLDR; One of the screws may be in the way of the cam's rotation. I was very careful to install it correctly, and it was installed correctly. I had the same issue as described in the video. I also found it odd that the bolt did not stick out very far, but just wrote it off as the way it is. I double checked my installation after watching this video and I had, in fact, installed it correctly. Looking at it again, the cam that closes the limit switch on mine was not able to rotate to disengage the switch when locking because of one of the screw heads. I had to take one of the screws out to allow the cam to rotate fully. I don't know how I ended up with the wrong screws, but the screws I have do not recess in the holes like the ones at 3:07. Once I removed that screw the cam was able to fully rotate. The bolt was also able to fully extend as well, which alleviated my prior concern about the short bolt.

Beware these devices any of them similar DO NOT work on hotel/motel doors with toggle bolt electronic locks often the key card design. Those doors have a spring loaded tab that rides the striker plate to prevent the bolt from extending while the door is open. Inserting this device blocks that tab and closing the door the bolt will not function as it thinks the door is still open. We've had this device with us in 3 different major name brand hotels with electronic locks and it will not work on any of their doors. We do use it at B&B's and other places traveling but keep in mind you may beed alternative methods for security with you.

You also buy a plastic drain snake for a few dollars that will work really well.

The cylinder requires a box attachment a bit bulky but ten more times affective. Sinkhole is better than collar.

Is being a locksmith even a viable career with iot? A live in an apartment and the lock is 100% through an app or code. A lot of apartments are getting rid keyes completely. Aren't cars also becoming keyless? Are key based locks going the way of the floppy drive?

Same problem I have , mine has 3 screws and I have 2 door chimes, I installed it, but now my chime inside does not work , camera works great but no chime inside , and I did install that little box, and ideas or help ????

THANK YOU My dumb ass wanted to check if the latch fit the strike plate without first installing the inside knob. Stood there like "🤡fuck" and almost lost my mind fiddling with a credit card or attempting to install the knob from inside but no dice. My latch was a brinks one so the little lever thing appeared up top and I got it open after a good 15 min of stress.

Mine was doing this and was installed correctly. I just needed a new battery. I installed a new battery and it seems to take a few minutes to go back to normal functioning. It bothers me somewhat that a weak battery would cause this behavior. I would expect the appropriate response would be to stop unlocking. That might not be so great if you only had one way in.

Man, you just made me the hero to my partner. Been trying to figure out how to get our loose door handle apart to fix it, finally gave up and searched for a solution, your video came up first and within 1:52 min of your video I get the solution 😁 Getting the rosette off proved a bit more difficult than what it looked like in your video, it was tight, but I eventually got it to snap off and found that all three mounting screws were loose. Tightened those in 30 seconds, put it all back together, and we’re good to go! So thank you for sharing this, I owe you a beer, cheers! 👍🏼💥👏🏼👏🏼🙏🏻

NOTE: Some inside knobs do not have a "press in" catch that's used to release the knob. Mine has a tiny 3/32" hex screw that requires loosening (after which you need to remove the Allen wrench) THEN the knob will slide off effortlessly. I found this out after an hour or two of looking for a catch like the ones in all these UA-cam videos, a catch that requires just pressing in for a 'click' which releases the knob. I have no idea how unusual the hex screw-type catch is, but it is very real. I used it on two door lock mechanisms that were loose and required removal of the inside knob for access to the two main screws for tightening..

Of course we all know no one would think of breaking the glass.

I'm not that concerned about lock picking and I want a good reasonably priced lock that's better than average, better than most hardware stores sell, so I like the ABUS Diskus 20/70 at around $40. I think it's the best compromise lock. Good for the price and better than what the hardware store has. Sure I might buy a bigger heavier expensive ABUS as shown for some things but it's not my default go to. Just an opinion...
